Itinerary Tuesday,
September 7 Begin your tour this morning as you depart from Cedar Knolls at 8:00 am. Motor along the Connecticut coastline past New Haven and stop for lunch (on your own) in Providence, Rhode Island. Upon arrival on “the Cape”, visit the Sandwich Glass Museum, which promotes a broad understanding and appreciation of Sandwich town history, with particular emphasis on the unique contribution of the glass industry to the local community, the region, the nation, and the world. Then stop at the Christmas Tree Shop, where you can always find a bargain. Late this afternoon check into your hotel for a relaxing 3-night stay. Dinner this evening will be at a local restaurant in Hyannis.
Wednesday,
September 8 After breakfast, meander along the Cape Cod National Seashore. Visit Nauset Lighthouse, Marconi Station, Provincetown and stop at the Visitor Center. There will be plenty to see and do on this wonderful and scenic day. Return to the hotel this afternoon. Tonight’s dinner features a traditional New England lobster meal (Beef or Fish can be substituted).
Thursday,
September 9 After breakfast, depart on the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. Once arriving on the island, your local guide will show you the highlights of the island including Edgartown and Gay Head. There will be free time to explore the island’s shops before returning on the ferry. Tonight, dine at a favorite restaurant of the locals.
Friday,
September 10 Depart this morning over the Cape Cod Canal and on to the whaling town of New Bedford. Visit the Whaling Museum, the largest museum in America devoted to the history of the whaling industry. The Museum brings to life the whaling era and the history of the local area. Then travel back home with fond memories of your relaxing stay and local insight to Cape Cod, arriving about 5:30 pm. Hotel
