A passport is required for this trip. Step back to an era where turn-of-the-century ideals remain and automobiles are banned. September 17 Depart Cedar
Knolls this morning and journey west through the rolling hills of Pennsylvania.
Your destination is Akron, OH with an overnight stay in the unique Quaker Square
Inn - the renovated silos of the Quaker Oats Company.

September 18 After
breakfast, depart past Cleveland and on to Dearborn. Today you have a choice -
spend a leisurely afternoon exploring the Henry Ford Museum or Greenfield
Village. The Dearborn Inn, built by Henry Ford, is your home for the evening.

September 19 Following breakfast, travel towards the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on your way to Mackinac Island. A short ferry ride takes you back to a bygone era of old-world hospitality and charm, to an era of dining to chamber music and dancing the evening away. Here, no automobiles are permitted, and nothing intrudes on the serenity and natural beauty of the Island. Amid the white linens of the Main Dining Room, you will be invited to select from a menu renowned for its range and excellence. And after dinner, you will be welcomed in the Parlor for Demitasse and music performed by The Grand Hotel Orchestra. (B, D) Monday,
September 20 Each day gets a hearty start with a delicious breakfast at Grand Hotel. Today, tour the island by private horse-drawn carriage and discover Mackinac's rich heritage and unspoiled natural environment. The remainder of the day is free to wander through the quaint shops, relax, golf or visit Fort Mackinac. Another delicious meal awaits you tonight. September 21 Ferry back across to the mainland and board your coach for the ride to Frankenmuth - a Bavarian style village. A stop will be made at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, the largest Christmas store in the world. Start you holiday shopping early at this amazing store. A short orientation tour around the town will familiarize you with the area before you start exploring. Your hotel, the Marriott Springhill Suites, is located within easy walking distance to all the shops. This evening, sample the local German dinner served family-style. (B, D) Wednesday,
September 22 Following
breakfast, depart for Port Huron and cross the border into Canada. Proceed
through customs and continue to Niagara Falls where you will board the Maid of
the Mist for a thrilling boat ride to the base of the falls. After experiencing
this exciting excursion and enjoying the views, check into your hotel. Tonight,
enjoy a festive farewell dinner. (B,

September 23 Cross the border back into the United States and motor through the beautiful farmland of upstate New York. Then return home with memories of your wonderful vacation at all the “grand” hotels. (B) Hotels

Hotels on day 6 may be subject to change until final contracts are signed in February 2010. Please note that the Grand
Hotel requires men to wear a coat and necktie and ladies dress in their finest
after 6:00 PM. You may dress casually for all other events. CONDITIONS A deposit of
$200.00 per person ($309.00 with insurance) along with the completed application
is due as soon as possible. Make
checks payable to Long’s Travel. Final payment is due no later than July
16, 2010. *This is the discounted price for payment by check. The cost for payment by other means is $1559.00 double occupancy, $1924.00 single.
