Itinerary

Monday, October 11

French Canada is your destination today.  Depart Cedar Knolls and enjoy a scenic ride through the Hudson Valley to Lake George for a lunch stop (on your own). Continue across the Adirondack Mountains and cross the border into Canada. Later you will arrive in the second largest French speaking city in the world - Montreal. Check into the Queen Elizabeth Hotel for the evening, one of the finest hotels in the city. The hotel is part of the underground city, 18 miles of corridors that connect shops, museums, the subway, hotels  and restaurants. Dinner  is included.

Tuesday, October 12

After breakfast, your local guide will familiarize you with the highlights of the city, including the Notre Dame Basilica, Mount Royal, Old Town and St. Joseph’s Oratory. Then you will have free time to explore Jacques Cartier Square before departing along the St. Lawrence River to Quebec City, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Upon arrival, check into your hotel for two nights.  Dinner is at a historic restaurant located in the heart of the Old City.

Wednesday, October 13

An expert local guide will start your tour on the Plains of Abraham, site of the great battle of 1759. See the  Provincial Building, the quaint streets of Lower Town and the impressive Chateau Frontenac. The afternoon is at leisure. You may want to visit St. Anne’s Basilica, an important pilgrimage site and known for its curative powers, and stop at Montmorency Falls. Or you can choose to explore the shops and artist row of Quebec City. Your tour director will have suggestions for dining this evening.

Thursday, October 14

Bid “au revoir” to Quebec as you motor through the Eastern Townships and re-enter the U.S. Stop in Burlington, Vermont and browse through the market place. Drive along Lake Champlain and arrive in Glens Falls at your overnight hotel. Dinner is included this evening.

Friday, October 15

A morning tour of Saratoga highlights what the city was and is known for - natural spring waters and thoroughbred racing.  Admire the stately Victorian homes and listen to tales of yesterday. Then depart back for Cedar Knolls with great memories and a “joie de vivre”.

CONDITIONS

A deposit of $100.00 ($189.00 with insurance) per person is due along with the completed application. Make checks payable to Long’s Travel. Final payment is due no later than August 13, 2010. 

CANCELLATIONS

The following fees will apply per person for tour cancellations:

(These fees are waived by purchasing insurance and you have to cancel for a covered reason).

Cancellation up to August 1, 2010; $25.00 Cancellation between August 2-31; $400.00

From September 1, 2010,  there is no refund.

INSURANCE

Cancellation/trip interruption insurance is available and highly recommended. Please add $89.00 per person to your deposit.  Once purchased, the insurance premium is non-refundable.
