Your Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 - Thu: Depart U.S. for London
Day 2 - Fri: London Arrival & Leisure Time
Land at Heathrow Airport and transfer to your hotel. Transfers from Gatwick Airport available at additional cost. The remainder of the day is at leisure. There are exciting places to discover from traditional attractions such as the British Museum or the Tate Gallery to the modern "London Eye." Meet your guide and fellow travelers over a welcome drink.
Day 3 - Sat: London Touring
Visit the Tower of London to see ravens, Beefeaters, the Traitors' Gate, the White Tower and the magnificent Crown Jewels. Then drive through the city center to see the main sights and streets. Pass the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben, nearby Westminster Abbey and bustling Piccadilly Circus. The afternoon and evening are free. (CB)
Day 4 - Sun: Blenheim & Cotswolds
Visit Blenheim Palace, an 18th century Baroque masterpiece with priceless treasures of art and charming Water Terrace Gardens. Drive through the Cotswolds and stop in Stratford-upon-Avon for a browse around the town and continue to Shrewsbury. (CB, D)
Day 5 - Mon: Chester & Lake District
Take a walking tour of Chester to see the medieval city walls and Chester Cathedral. Drive through the Lake District for stunning scenic views and stop in Grasmere. Drive to your hotel in Edinburgh and dine independently. On August 13 departure watch the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. (B)
Day 6 - Tue: Edinburgh Highlights
Tour Edinburgh's Georgian "New Town." Travel along the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle for a guided tour and great views over the city. The afternoon is free for independent activities and in the evening enjoy a fun Scottish Cabaret. (B, D)
Day 7 - Wed: Stirling Castle & Glen Coe
Visit Stirling Castle, which has been prominent throughout Scottish history. Mary, Queen of Scots, spent some years there. Drive through the scenic region of the Trossachs, across the haunting Rannoch Moor and through the majestic scenery of Glencoe to Ballachulish. (B, D)
Day 8 - Thu: Loch Lomond & Glasgow
Drive through wonderful Highland scenery and stop in the planned town of Inveraray, built between 1753 and 1776. Cruise on Loch Lomond to admire delightful views before driving into Glasgow for a short orientation tour. (B, D)
Day 9 - Fri: Depart for Home
Your tour ends with a group transfer to arrive at Glasgow Airport by 7:00 or 9:00 am. (B)
